Art in Action Workshop

Time: 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Objectives of the Art in Action Workshop: 

The workshop consists of cycles of art in action where children will explore the works of various  visual artists, while reinterpreting their themes and techniques. 

The objectives of the workshop are: 

  • Stimulate expressive and artistic abilities by exploring the works of various significant artists in art  history.  
  • Engage all the senses through concepts, shapes, colors, textures, and techniques of visual arts.
  • Develop the children’s artistic language as a form of self-expression. 
  • Increase awareness of aesthetic, artistic, and cultural values as part of human development.
  • Enhance fine motor skills using various tools and materials related to visual arts.
  • Encourage skills such as problem-solving, creativity, information processing, following  instructions, and interacting with different perspectives and ideas, among others. 
  • And finally, foster love and sensitivity for art as a mean of personal growth and enrichment.

Objectives of the Cooking Workshop:

  • Enrich their vocabulary by recognizing foods in Spanish as well as learning about typical dishes from various countries around the world.
  • Cultivate observation, attention, and the ability to follow instructions in the preparation of a dish.
  • Foster social skills through teamwork, learning to take turns, building frustration tolerance when things don’t go as planned, and enhancing problem-solving abilities.

Objectives of the Ceramic-art Workshop:

  • The ceramic-art workshop is designed to enhance children’s creative expression and provide physical and emotional benefits by working with clay.
  • By molding and shaping clay, children bring their imaginative ideas to life. This activity strengthens their hands, wrists, and arms, fostering a connection between their bodies and minds while boosting confidence, self-esteem, and fine motor skills.

What will the children learn in the music workshop?

🎵 Musical concepts through fun dynamics, games and creativity, with live singing and guitar.

🎵 Initiation in the use, rhythmic and motor skills of different instruments such as: claves, cymbals, drums, maracas and metallophones.

🎵 They will learn pieces sung and played with instruments according to age; and will participate in activities to showcase their achievements at least twice a year.

🎵 They will engage in body expression activities working on rhythmic and gross motor skills.

Art Workshop

Facilitated by: Carlos Tirado
Days: Thursdays
Time: 4:00 to 5:30 pm
Ages: 7- to 13-year-olds
Price: $180 per month

Objectives of the Art Workshop:

  • Develop drawing and painting techniques through observation and fine motor skills using various materials, including colored pencils, pastel chalks, inks, watercolors, acrylics, and oils. The goal is to achieve a comprehensive understanding of each technique.
  • The program consists of four levels, allowing students to explore different aspects of classical and graphic art, as well as anime and comic.
Choir Christmas Parrandita

Facilitated by: Nayruska Monsalve
Days: Thursdays (September – December)
Time: 5:00 to 6:00 pm
Ages: 5- to 13-year-olds
Price: $160 per month

Objectives of the Choir Parrandita:

  • Develop your child’s vocal and musical talents.
  • Foster group discipline through music.
  • Put together a Christmas program featuring traditional songs from Latin America and the United States.
  • Put together a spring musical program with a diverse repertoire from both Latin America and the United States.
  • Have 2 public performances during the school year.
